Annual Lenten Clergy Day of Reflection

March 16 2021

From Bishop William D. Byrne
In keeping with my desire for us to commit to praying with and for each other in a Eucharistic Holy Hour, I would like to invite you to join me for the Annual Lenten Day of Prayer and Reflection for Priests and Deacons.

The annual event was held this year on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at St. Michael’s Cathedral from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and took advantage of the Season of Lent for an opportunity to come together to renew our relationship with the Lord through prayer, works of penance and charity. Confessors were available for those who wished to go to confession.

The presenter for the Day of Prayer and Reflection was Fr. Robert S. White, CSS, Superior Provincial of the American Stigmatine Province of the Holy Spouses, and Pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Springfield, MA. In the past, Fr. White served the Stigmatine community as a member of its formation team, as Provincial Secretary and as a General Councilor in Rome.

Fr. White was ordained a priest in 1973 and in addition to serving as Parish Priest, he is formerly a member of the Diocesan Review Board. He has also served as an appointed and elected member of the Presbyteral Council.

Fr. White offered a reflection on Pope Francis’ Apostolic Letter, Patris Corde (With A Father’s Heart) on the 150th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Saint Joseph as the Patron of the Universal Church.
